BAG TAG RULES

Numbered tags for the calendar year are made available to players who play at the club regularly. There will be multiple divisions. The numbers represent your ranking, the lower the better.

A player may challenge another player with a lower tag in the same division at any time, but must make it clear that the match played is for tags. The winner of the match takes the lower tag. Tags are to be exchanged immediately.

The winner may refuse a challenge by the same player for the remainder of that session.

A player may refuse a challenge if they have just played three consecutive matches without an adequate break or are injured.

Tags may also be utilized in tournaments or league play. During league play all players in a round robin group shall turn in their tags. The tags will be redistributed to players based on final round robin standings.

A tag may be revoked and reissued for unsportsmanlike behavior or prolonged absence at the discretion of the PongFather.

This system is based of a system used in disc golf. You can find a more detailed description here.

Rules of Greatest Ever Doubles Champions

Each open play session, the Greatest Ever Doubles Champions challenge is in play.

The winners of the very first doubles match of the session become the Greatest Ever Doubles Champions.
The champions must play any challengers or forfeit the title. If the challengers win they become the new champions.
If a member of the current champions team leaves early, and there are still challengers, the remaining player may choose another partner to defend the title.
If both champions leave and there are more challengers, they forfeit the title and the next doubles match determines the Greatest Ever Doubles Champions.
Champions may be challenged at anytime, however they must be defeated before session time expires.
The Greatest Ever Doubles Champions shall have their photo taken with the championship flag.
The photo will be enshrined in the PhoenixvilleTableTennis.com photo album, posted on Facebook, featured in social media Reels, and revered over the entire planet.
At the end of the year, the one player with the most photos gets to keep the flag.
